Role Overview:As the Vice President of Operations, you will be a key executive leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of our operational framework. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and collaborating closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will lead high-impact initiatives that drive efficiency, profitability, and growth across the organization. This role is pivotal in scaling our operations, refining processes, and ensuring that our investment syndication activities are executed with precision and excellence. We are looking for a team member who embodies our tech-driven, data-centric approach and is passionate about transforming real estate through innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of operational strategies that align with the company’s goals for growth and profitability in the commercial real estate sector. Act as a strategic partner to the COO and CEO, contributing to the overall direction of the company with a focus on data-driven insights and technology integration.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee all syndication operations, including legal documentation, transfer of ownership, K-1 reviews, CPA communications, and distribution management, ensuring that processes are streamlined and compliant with industry standards. Use technology and data analytics to optimize these processes continuously.
  • Offshore Team Management: Manage and enhance the existing systems and processes that allow for effective collaboration and management of our offshore team, which makes up 60% of our workforce. Continuously improve these processes to ensure high performance and integration across all teams, utilizing tech solutions to maintain seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Acquisitions Oversight: Lead the Acquisitions Team responsible for multifamily acquisitions, land acquisition, and new construction development. Ensure robust underwriting practices, accurate proformas, and a strong pipeline of acquisitions. Oversee the closing process, including contract negotiation, due diligence, debt sourcing, and loan closing. Leverage data analytics to drive decision-making and ensure the success of these activities. Experience with syndications is preferred.
  • Asset Management Leadership: Oversee the Asset Management Team, ensuring that business plans for each project are executed effectively through weekly meetings with property managers. Track and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize the performance of our portfolio, using data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Sales Team Oversight: Oversee the Sales Team with a focus on their KPIs for investor outreach and conversion rates. Ensure that dashboards and charts are regularly updated to provide executives with actionable insights for key decision-making, using our data-driven approach to monitor and enhance performance.
  • Investor Relations: Oversee the process of investor updates and webinars, ensuring that our investors are consistently informed about the performance and status of their investments. Maintain transparency and build trust with our investor community, utilizing data to provide clear, compelling narratives.
  • Dynamic Presentation Skills: Serve as a dynamic and compelling presenter, responsible for delivering presentations to board members, investors, and potential investors. Lead the design team in crafting top-notch presentations that effectively communicate our value proposition and business strategy, grounded in data and tech-driven insights.
  • Financial Stewardship: Lead and enhance financial reporting and accounting operations for the organization, including budget management, forecasting, and analysis. Ensure accuracy and transparency in financial dealings across all entities, using advanced analytics and technology to maintain rigorous financial controls.
  • Technology Integration: Drive the adoption and integration of advanced technology solutions to improve operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making. Champion tech-driven initiatives that align with our vision of being a leader in real estate syndication and tech innovation.
  • Marketing Coordination: Collaborate with the Marketing team to understand and align marketing initiatives with departmental projects and timelines. Ensure cross-departmental coordination to support marketing efforts and business objectives, utilizing data to optimize marketing strategies.
  • People Management: Build and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Oversee HR functions including contracts, payroll, employee relations, and talent acquisition to ensure that our people strategy supports our operational needs, with a focus on integrating technology into HR processes.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices in the real estate investment industry. Use data analytics to anticipate and address potential risks proactively.
  • Expansion and Scaling: Lead efforts to scale operations as the company grows, ensuring that processes are scalable and that the organization is prepared to meet the demands of a larger portfolio and investor base. Leverage technology to ensure that our scaling efforts are efficient and sustainable.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in operations leadership within the commercial real estate investment sector or a related field, with a proven track record of driving operational excellence and growth through data and technology.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate company vision into actionable operational plans, utilizing data-driven insights to guide decision-making.
  • Advanced understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and budget management, with a hands-on approach to financial oversight, leveraging technology to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability, particularly in managing offshore teams through tech-enabled systems.
  • Expertise in multifamily acquisitions, land development, underwriting, proforma analysis, and closing processes, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Proven experience in overseeing sales teams, with a strong focus on KPIs related to investor outreach and conversion rates, using analytics to monitor and drive performance.
  • Highly skilled and experienced in delivering dynamic presentations to high-level stakeholders and leading design teams to create impactful, data-driven presentations.
  • Highly tech-savvy with experience in implementing and managing technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously, all while maintaining a data-driven approach.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with investors, team members, and external stakeholders, with an emphasis on transparency and data-based narratives.
  • Familiarity with legal documentation and syndication operations in the multifamily commercial real estate domain is a significant advantage.
  • Undergraduate degree required, Graduate Degree strongly preferred

Full-time Pay : $130 to $150k Annual Salary, Depending on Experience

  • Potential to receive a share in the backend profits of our syndication projects, which have made tens of millions of dollars of profit for our 1000+ accredited investors
  • Please note - This is a full-time contract position with no additional benefits - you will receive a 1099 each year.

Benefits:

  • Paid time off 2 weeks (10 working days), going up to 3 weeks (15 working days) after 24 months, going up to 4 weeks (20 working days) after 5 years, plus standard US Holidays.

Required travel: Some travel required - approximately 5-7 days per quarter

Work Location: This is a full time remote position, working within PST hours
