Product Design Engineer

Location: Remote Work (WFH) / Philippines

Work Hours: Philippine Day Time

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Product Design Engineer to join our team. This role will focus on creating and designing new lens products using advanced simulation software. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in optics as well as product/design engineering. He/she must have the ability to translate concepts into corresponding technical criteria that would meet both customer needs and industry standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

✅ Understand color science models and the human visual system to properly simulate a user’s color vision.

✅ Utilize simulation software like MATLAB to optimize and design innovative color enhancement lenses.

✅ Collaborate with the internal team and customers to gather information on the lens requirements and application.

✅ Coordinate remotely with the manufacturing team to create prototypes and validate the lens performance based on technical criteria.

✅ Create detailed technical documentation for released designs.

✅ Review customer feedback and iterate product design.

✅ Communicate proactively with the team regarding project timelines and ensure timely completion of projects.

✅ Provide technical support to production and technical marketing as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

✅ Must be a graduate of a relevant science/engineering degree from top universities.

Materials Eng’g, Mechanical Eng’g, Physics/Applied Physics or similar.

✅ Must have a strong understanding of optics and relevant engineering knowledge related to polymer manufacturing.

✅ Must have at least 3 years of experience in product/design engineering or product development in the manufacturing industry.

✅ Must be proficient in programming software such as MATLAB.

Proficiency in other optical software is a plus e.g. Zemax.
Proficiency in other simulation software is a plus e.g. AutoCAD, etc.

✅ Engineering experience in the optical industry is a plus.

✅ Must have good project management skills. Proactive communication and timely completion of projects are essential.

✅ Must be creative and have a strong attention to detail.

✅ Must be results-oriented and self-motivated.

✅ Must be fluent in English
