Software Engineer, Entry Level (Remote)

Job_Summary:

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is building a fully digital bank called Jenius Bank, focused on creating exceptional customer experiences. They are seeking a Software Engineer for their Middleware/API engineering team to design and maintain customer-facing omni-channel services.

Responsibilities:

• Applying design patterns in developing scalable and highly performant application/features

• Writing code and unit tests, automation, code reviews and testing

• Deploying to production and devops

• Work with product managers to prioritize features for ongoing sprints and managing a list of technical requirements based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects, and issues.

• Manage your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team.

• Quickly generate and update proof of concepts for testing and team feedback Embrace emerging standards while promoting best practices.

Qualifications:

-Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or equivalent.

• 2+ years of Java/ functional programming experience is a must.

• At least 1 year of experience with Cloud stack, Microsoft Azure etc. is a must.

• Experience designing and supporting customer facing RESTful APIs.

• Thorough understanding of API Development and data structure fundamentals.

• Good understanding of design concepts and design patterns.

• Demonstrated experience in Agile development, application design, software development, and testing.

• Aptitude for learning and applying programming concepts.

• Team player, self-starter, and passion for programming.

• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, product, and experience owners.

• Experience with CICD tools and dev ops.

-Preferred:

• Knowledge of Kotlin and GraphQL is a plus.

• Experience with financial services is a plus.
