As a Senior Manager, Contracts supporting the Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS) Integrated Platform Portfolio within Mission Systems, you’ll operate at the center of some of Collins Aerospace’s most complex and mission-critical defense programs. This is a high-visibility leadership role where you will guide a team of contracts professionals while serving as a strategic partner to Program Management, Finance, Supply Chain, and executive stakeholders. From shaping winning proposals to negotiating complex agreements under FAR, DFARS, and ITAR regulations, you will play a direct role in protecting the company’s interests, strengthening customer relationships, and driving program success across the full contract lifecycle.
In this position, you won’t just administer contracts—you’ll influence outcomes. You’ll provide strategic counsel on contractual rights and risk mitigation, lead negotiations that optimize financial performance, and resolve complex issues with sound judgment and creative problem-solving. At the same time, you’ll invest in developing your team, ensuring workload balance, mentorship, and professional growth. The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

What You Will Do:
- Support the professional development of direct reports, to include workload assignment, training opportunities, performance reviews and mentoring
- Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and influence business decisions
- Partner with Key Program Functions in the analysis of Requests for Proposal (RFP), development of proposals, proposal reviews and coordination, negotiation, contractual agreements, contracts implementation, as well as general contract administration
- Conduct timely and effective negotiations and resolution of customer issues to maximize key financial metrics
- Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking creative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders
- Provide strategic advice and guidance on numerous contractual rights/ obligations, regulations, and policy/procedure to mitigate risks and unauthorized changes
- Multi-task routine and complex contract and proposal activities while responding to unplanned quick response requirements as they emerge
- Travel 10%-15%
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
- Previous experience working with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, etc. and/or equivalent government regulations
- Previous experience as a Contracts Lead and/or direct engagement with external customers
- Secret Clearance eligibility
- Demonstrated ability to shape results in support of objectives, including ability to communicate and influence executive leadership
- Knowledge and understanding of Collins contracts policies
- Contracts Workflow experience
- Experience in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or Project)
- Ability to problem solve, develop solutions, and support the business leaders in achieving their financial and performance goals and objectives
- Advanced Degrees such as JD Law Degree or MBA or relevant Contracts Certifications such as CPCM or CFCM
