Secretary to Board (Remote 1-2 hours) - Volunteer


Ideal for a highly organised detail-driven secretary, to use their skills working from home, to keep board meetings running smoothly. PLUS YOU'RE EAGER to hit the ground running for Jan2026 by helping out a small nonprofit who offers free therapy for UK & US Black marginalised communities

Working from home and choosing your own hours, your highly organised detail-driven skills will help to keep board meetings running smoothly to impact our free therapy support for Black marginalised communities too often underserved due to mental health inequalities

What are we looking for?

Previous experience as Board Secretary or Secretary to a Board

  • Fulfilling the functions equivalent to a company secretary, assisting the chair and other trustees.
  • Minute-taking and report writing experience
  • Governance experience with a nonprofit/charity
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills. Good written and verbal communication.
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks whilst staying calm
  • Confidence using Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, and spreadsheets.
  • Confidence to share new working ideas with the team.
  • (Remote role) Can work independently from home

What will you be doing?

Board meetings will take place via Zoom monthly.

Secretary to Board

Taking minutes and circulating minutes to the board.

Preparing agendas.

Making all the arrangements for Zoom board meetings.

Ensuring that board members have carried out actions agreed at a previous meeting.

Circulating agendas and minutes of the annual general meeting and any special or extraordinary general meetings (where required).

Assisting the chair with new board recruitment and succession planning processes.
