Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner


Our client is looking to bring on a Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner to support their Connecticut claims operations. This position will focus on managing Medical Only and some Lost Time claims from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Connecticut Workers’ Compensation regulations and hold an active Connecticut Adjuster’s License. Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage Medical Only and Lost Time Connecticut Workers’ Compensation claims from inception through resolution.
  • Conduct detailed claim investigations and prepare documentation related to evaluations, settlements, denials, and involved parties.
  • Administer statutory medical benefits accurately and timely throughout the life of each claim.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate reserves for medical, indemnity, and expense exposures within assigned authority, recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Analyze coverage issues, coordinate medical care, support early return-to-work initiatives, and manage litigation strategies to drive effective claim outcomes.
  • Maintain organized, well-documented files while applying sound reserving practices and participating in ongoing training initiatives.
  • Present significant or complex claims to committee as required and assist with oversight of litigated matters.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service while consistently adhering to departmental best practices and compliance guidelines.


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Workers’ Compensation Medical Only and/or Lost Time claims experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Connecticut Workers’ Compensation law
  • Active Connecticut Adjuster’s License required
  • Proven experience handling litigated Workers’ Compensation claims
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $65,000 – $80,000 (depending on experience), plus annual bonus eligibility
