Training Program Manager & Strategist
Our client, in the wind power industry, is launching a Service Site Simulator designed to replicate the environment of an operational wind farm. They are looking for a Training Program Manager & Strategist to help create a program for newly hired and recently promoted managers in wind farm operations, addressing both technical and people management skills. Participants will experience realistic daily operations, including morning technician mobilization, daylong operational management, and end-of-day debriefs.
The training will likely run 3–8 days and combine direct instruction, role plays, realistic scenarios, and hands-on exercises. Existing company resources, such as Standard Work Checklists, Operations Playbooks, and leadership modules, will be integrated into a scenario-driven curriculum. Activities will reflect real-world responsibilities, including:
- Creating and managing daily plans while balancing competing priorities
- Conducting team meetings (large group, small group, and one-on-one) to address safety, quality, and development
- Assigning technicians to crews based on skill sets and on-the-job training needs
- Reviewing and approving work and safety plans with multiple variables
- Overseeing inventory, procurement, and cost control
- Troubleshooting operational challenges throughout the day
- Leading team-building activities and fostering a mature safety culture
- Maintaining housekeeping and ensuring proper tool and equipment calibration and management
The instructional approach will be in-person, with no eLearning components. However, short video vignettes can be developed to demonstrate best practices in manager-technician interactions and be used for analysis and discussion during breakout sessions.
