We’re seeking an experienced Technical Writer to develop field services training manuals for oil and gas industry equipment. This role focuses on creating clear, accurate, and instructionally sound materials that support trainers and technicians in field and classroom environments.

What You’ll Do

Develop Trainer Guides, Student Guides, and Verification/Assessment Guides for equipment training.
Translate complex technical, mechanical, and operational content into clear, usable training materials.
Partner with SMEs, field service engineers, and trainers to gather, validate, and refine content.
Create step-by-step procedures, job aids, checklists, diagrams, and troubleshooting content.
Ensure materials align with safety standards, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
Manage updates and revisions based on equipment changes and field feedback.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience writing training manuals for oil & gas equipment or adjacent industries (utilities, aviation, military, manufacturing).
Demonstrated experience creating instructor-led and learner-facing training materials.
Strong ability to interpret technical documentation and translate it for training use.
Excellent writing, organization, and attention to detail.
Experience working directly with SMEs and field-based teams.

Nice to Have

Background in field services, maintenance, or technical training.
Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning.
Experience with structured documentation or content standards.

Start Date: February 2026

Duration: 6-month contract to start with likely extensions through March 2027

Hours: Up to 40 hours per week

Location: Virtual

The pay range for this is $55.00 to $60.00 per hour on W2 basis. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and specific work location.
