About Sequencing.com

Sequencing.com is a profitable Series A company operating at the intersection of biotech, genomics, and personalized health. As the world’s largest direct-to-consumer genomics platform, our mission is to make whole-genome sequencing accessible, actionable, and meaningful for everyone.

As we scale, building a high-performing team is critical, and this role will be central to shaping the people foundation that powers our future.

Role Overview

As our first Talent Lead, you will build Sequencing.com’s recruiting engine from the ground up. You’ll design structured hiring systems, create a repeatable and consistent recruiting process, and ensure we continue to hire exceptional people who align with our mission and values.

This is a role for someone who is confident, persuasive and energized by relationship-building, but also thrives when shaping systems and defining workflows. Reporting to the COO, you will partner directly with the CEO and leadership team. You’ll own the full talent lifecycle, from role scoping and sourcing to selection, onboarding, and talent operations.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role with opportunity to expand in scope as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Strategy & Operations

  • Build a scalable, structured recruiting process from sourcing through onboarding.
  • Implement and manage hiring systems and tools (ATS, sourcing platforms, dashboards) with an emphasis on consistency and workflow clarity.
  • Develop interview frameworks, scorecards, and process documentation to ensure quality, alignment, and repeatability.
  • Maintain a predictable, organized recruitment cadence while adapting quickly to changing priorities.

Full-Cycle Recruitment

  • Own end-to-end hiring across technical, GTM, and operational functions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, expectations, and success profiles.
  • Manage proactive outreach and relationship-building with top-tier passive talent.
  • Deliver a high-touch, positive candidate experience while balancing pace and precision.

Employer Brand & Culture

  • Act as an energetic, persuasive ambassador for Sequencing.com’s mission and values.
  • Craft and promote a compelling employer brand that resonates with candidates in biotech and tech.
  • Strengthen the cultural foundation through consistent communication and intentional onboarding programs.

Executive Partnership

  • Work directly with the CEO and COO to forecast hiring needs and build annual headcount plans.
  • Bring structured recommendations, talent insights, and organized workflows to executive discussions.
  • Lead role definition, interview loop design, and selection calibration discussions across teams.

Data-Driven Excellence

  • Establish recruiting metrics such as time-to-hire, pipeline health, source performance, and funnel conversion.
  • Use data to improve process efficiency, candidate quality, and hiring manager satisfaction.
  • Ensure documentation, tracking, and follow-through align with a reliable, systematic recruiting function.

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of experience in full-cycle recruiting or talent acquisition, ideally within a high-growth, DTC or consumer-focused startup.
  • Proven success as an early or first in-house recruiter building hiring systems and processes.
  • Experience hiring across Engineering, Product, Growth, and G&A.
  • Strong persuasive communication style with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Future-thinking, self-directed, confident, and energized by social interaction and relationship-building.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity while bringing organization, clarity, and structure to evolving needs.
  • Excited by Sequencing.com’s mission and the chance to shape the future of personalized health.

Preferred (But Not Required)

  • Experience recruiting in Healthtech, Biotech, or regulated technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with global or remote hiring practices.
  • Understanding of early-stage compensation models (equity, options, and incentive structures).

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health coverage - medical, dental, and vision
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) option
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Flexible paid time off (PTO) and paid volunteer time off
  • Fully remote position with home office stipend
  • Equity options included as part of a competitive compensation package
