Sr Technical Solutions Engineer - LATAM

Job Description:


The Senior ESS Technical Solution Engineer will serve as a technical expert to support HyperStrong’s Americas business. This role is responsible for delivering pre-sale technical solutions, including technical proposals, preliminary system design, value engineering, documentation management, and compliance assurance. Additionally, this position will provide technical support during project execution, including system commissioning, testing, engineering change orders (ECOs), and root cause analysis (RCAs).

The candidate will collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and HQ teams to develop competitive ESS solutions that meet customer and market needs. As a key technical liaison, they will engage with owners, engineers, and EPC partners during design and construction, providing expert guidance on system configuration, testing, and compliance.

This role requires strong technical expertise in ESS applications, regulatory standards, and system integration. This role will report to Vice President, Technical Solution.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review ESS project RFPs, specifications, and customer requirements to define technical deliverables.
  2. Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to develop competitive technical proposals and system solutions.
  3. Support project execution by assisting in BOS design, third-party engineering studies, and EPC system-level design.
  4. Serve as the primary technical liaison between sales, customers, and internal teams to ensure alignment.
  5. Provide technical expertise on ESS product applications, specifications, and customer inquiries.
  6. Maintain and update internal and external technical portals for streamlined documentation access.
  7. Support contract reviews to identify and mitigate technical risks.
  8. Work with HQ solution and product teams to manage product updates and technical changes.
  9. Travel with sales teams to provide technical support and showcase product advantages.
  10. Interpret and ensure compliance with UL, IEEE, IEC, NEC, NFPA, and applicable regional requirements .
  11. Represent HyperStrong at industry trade shows and marketing events to enhance brand recognition.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years in the renewable energy industry (BESS integrator or EPC experience preferred).
  • 5+ years in a technical role (Product/System Engineering, Application Engineering, Project Engineering, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Battery system design, configuration, and installation
  • Power electronics, battery chemistry, thermal management, and fire protection systems
  • Control systems, SLD development, and system layout design
  • Expertise in UL9540/A, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, and local jurisdiction requirements.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or similar tools for engineering drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
  • Trilingual proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).

Travel & Work Conditions:

  • 25-50% travel (customer meetings, site support, industry events).
  • Full-time, remote.
