Role: Software Engineer Intern

Role Description

Sarva is seeking a motivated and mission-driven Software Engineer Intern to support the development of our web and mobile applications. As an intern, you’ll work closely with the founding team to build out the back-end infrastructure that powers Sarva’s delivery experience from customer ordering systems to vendor dashboards. This is a valuable opportunity to apply your technical skills to a real product with community impact, while gaining mentorship and exposure to startup operations.

Responsibilities

Assist in building and maintaining back-end systems (APIs, databases, integrations)
Support the development of vendor tools, inventory systems, and delivery tracking logic
Collaborate with the design and product team to implement user-facing features
Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code
Participate in weekly check-ins and contribute to a collaborative remote work environment

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript/Node.js, Python, Java)
Familiarity with object-oriented programming (OOP) and web development principles
Basic understanding of back-end frameworks, APIs, and database systems
Strong communication and time-management skills
Passion for community-based technology, culture, or small business empowerment is a plus

This is an unpaid internship. However, strong-performing interns will be considered for paid roles or equity opportunities in the future as the company grows.
