Position Overview:
As a Software Engineer at Chimera Rocket Labs, you will design, develop, and maintain software systems that support our aerospace technologies. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists, tackling complex technical challenges and delivering innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain software for mission-critical aerospace applications, including simulation, telemetry, and control systems.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, aerospace specialists, and project managers to integrate software with physical systems.
- Design and implement scalable, efficient, and secure software architectures.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Debug and resolve issues across the software stack, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Conduct testing, verification, and validation of software systems to meet industry standards and project requirements.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and methodologies to ensure our software remains cutting-edge.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Assist in the development of user interfaces and tools for data analysis and mission monitoring.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, preferably in the aerospace, robotics, or high-tech industry.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, or similar.
- Experience with software development tools and platforms, including Git, Jenkins, or Docker.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with real-time systems, embedded software, or high-performance computing is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization tools.
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with aerospace systems, robotics, or simulation software.
- Knowledge of communication protocols and data transmission in aerospace applications.
- Familiarity with machine learning, AI, or data analytics tools.
- Certification in software engineering or cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer).
