Design and deliver high-impact backend solutions powering global retail media platforms. As a Senior Software Engineer (Object-Oriented PHP & Laravel), you will architect scalable features, build robust API integrations, and develop production-ready systems using Object-Oriented PHP and Laravel. This is a highly technical, backend-focused role centered on scalable architecture and clean engineering standards.

What You'll Do

  • Scope and architect features independently and leverage your team to deliver features on time
  • Maintain the highest level of quality and coding standards in the codebase
  • Give constructive feedback to elevate team code quality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Develop integrations with external ad networks
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve team output
  • Test, deploy, and support new products and features

Daily Tasks:

  • Attend daily standups
  • Write and review PRs
  • Contribute code to Zitcha repositories
  • Update project and task status
  • Work with product partners to workshop and scope projects and features
  • Work with the UK team on technical requests or debugging
  • Join some customer-facing sessions as required

What You Need to Bring

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in Object-Oriented PHP and Laravel, preferably in a high-growth startup
  • Demonstrated ability to design, build, and ship large-scale, production-ready systems using clean, maintainable, and well-structured code
  • Strong coding proficiency with a deep understanding of backend architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization
  • Experience working with MySQL or other relational databases, including schema design and query optimization
  • Proficient with PHPUnit/Pest; Test-Driven Development is your primary instinct
  • Experience developing well-documented APIs, API integrations with other platforms, and SDKs using PHP best practices
  • Working knowledge of Docker, including setting up dockerized environments and using Docker for local development and deployments
