Inman is seeking a Director of Events to join our growing team. This vital hire will be responsible for the planning and execution of our industry events, most notably our flagship semi-annual Inman Connect events as well as our flagship Blueprint event. These events currently draw 2,500+ attendees and 100 exhibitors and sponsors. Additionally, this role will oversee Inman’s regional Inman on Tour event series which currently features 3 regional events in Nashville, Texas and Miami. We have ambitious growth goals for the coming years. The ideal candidate will have experience planning and growing large scale events, negotiating contracts, managing budgets, and thinking creatively about attendee and sponsor experiences. This is a full-time, remote position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and execute all event logistics for events (venue sourcing, registration, hotel blocks, catering, audio/visual, entertainment etc.)
- Manage all third-party vendor relations for event orders and invoicing
- Negotiate contracts with hotels and vendors
- Maintain precise budgets for each event
- Conceptualize and execute custom sponsorships for sponsors Plan and coordinate the launch of new email and ad products.
- Develop event floor plans with event management vendor (GES)
- Manage the production of all onsite event signage, custom sponsor signage and event branding
- Conduct research of competitive industry events and event trends
- Partner with event content team to create conference agendas
- Work collaboratively with marketing and sales staff on event promotion
- Manage all timelines and deadlines for event deliverables
- Travel onsite to execute company events
KEY SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- 5+ years planning events and conferences
- A keen sense for attendee and sponsor experiences
- Experience running exhibitor halls
- Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relations
- Experience managing budgets
- Excellent communication and writing skills
