Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Sr. Accountant will be responsible for core accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, and financial reporting, while also providing operational support to the procurement team.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the full monthly close process, including preparation, review, and posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
- Perform detailed general ledger reconciliations and account analyses to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for key balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with variance analysis and explanation of fluctuations in accounting accounts month-over-month.
- Support financial reporting activities including preparing reports for management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Lead efforts to maintain and improve internal controls related to accounting processes.
- Assist the AP and Procurement lead by supporting procurement activities such as vendor compliance monitoring, processing new purchase requests, and performing related administrative and control duties to ensure alignment with company policies
- Monitor procurement transactions and support compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
- Participate actively in internal and external audits, preparing audit schedules and providing documentation as requested.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhanced accounting procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Minimum 5 years of solid experience in accounting and financial close activities, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Ability to work US (EST) hours.
- Strong expertise in general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems. NetSuite strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP; accounting standards
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
- Familiarity with procurement workflows and their accounting impact.
- Detail-oriented and process-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; CPA license preferred.
