🚀Description

The Project Manager, Website Design & Development is a leadership role responsible for owning complex website projects from strategy and kickoff through launch, reconciliation, and post-launch evaluation. This role is designed for a seasoned agency project manager with deep experience leading website design and development builds. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, serve as a trusted client partner, and act as the connective tissue between strategy, design, content, and development. You are expected to run the project, not be managed by it.


🕒 Schedule and Availability

This role requires consistent office hours and reliable responsiveness during that time. You must be available:

  • Four hours per day within 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday (20 hours per week total)
  • Hours may be self-selected, but once established, they must remain consistent and dependable week to week.


🚀Core Responsibilities

👉🏾Strategic Web Project Ownership

  • Own end-to-end delivery of website design and development projects, including discovery, UX, design, content coordination, development, QA, and launch
  • Translate client goals into actionable project plans, scopes, and timelines that protect quality, budget, and team capacity
  • Anticipate risks, dependencies, and technical constraints before they impact delivery


👉🏾Client Leadership & Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Build trusted, long-term client relationships through clear communication, sound judgment, and proactive problem solving
  • Confidently guide clients through scope and timeline decisions, including change management when needed


👉🏾Team & Workflow Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional teams including designers, developers, strategists, and vendors
  • Ensure teams have what they need to execute, removing blockers and maintaining momentum
  • Uphold and refine project management processes while exercising discretion when adaptation is required
  • Model strong collaboration, accountability, and clarity across all interactions


👉🏾Scope, Budget, & Financial Oversight

  • Lead development of project budget allocation, scope of work, timelines, and resource plans
  • Actively manage project trackers, forecasting, and reconciliation
  • Identify scope creep early and drive solutions that protect both client relationships and agency sustainability
  • Oversee weekly project status and progress reporting as well as bi-weekly forecasting for all assigned work, reporting to PMO, Accounting, and Leadership


👉🏾Operational Excellence & Mentorship

  • Follow provided training and guidelines. 
  • Maintain and improve the standard for project management best practices across website builds
  • Support and mentor project managers and production team members when applicable
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, documentation, and workflows


🚀Qualifications

  • 5+ years of agency project management experience, with significant focus on website design and development, REQUIRED
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex web builds involving multiple stakeholders and disciplines
  • Experience working with laymen clients, REQUIRED
  • Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously with minimal oversight
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong financial acumen related to project budgeting and forecasting
  • High level of organization, follow-through, and ownership


This role does not require hands-on development, but you must be fluent in managing technical workflows and collaborating closely with developers.


📍 Location

This is a remote position. Preference will be given to candidates based in or deeply familiar with Philadelphia, its small business ecosystem, and its cultural landscape.


🤑Compensation

Some projects operate on flat-rate agreements, with compensation based on defined scope rather than hours worked. When hourly work is required, the starting rate is $35 per hour, with opportunities for rate growth based on experience and performance.
