Project Manager
Project Manager (Data Migration / Modernization)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive Junior Project Manager to serve as the "operational engine" for a high-visibility, multi-year Data Modernization Program at a $30B AUM Private Equity firm. This is a critical role where you will be responsible for synthesizing inputs from senior architects, engineers, and business analysts to build, maintain, and track the master program plan.
You will work directly with the Delivery & Engagement Manager to ensure that every activity, milestone, and technical deliverable is accounted for, documented, and delivered on time across the entire program lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan Creation & Synthesis: Actively own and help create the master program plan. You will bring together inputs from various workstreams (Data Engineering, BI, and AI), facilitating sessions with technical leads to gather estimates and weave them into a cohesive, realistic roadmap.
- Activity & Objective Tracking: Rigorously track daily and weekly activities against the baseline plan and specific deliverable objectives. You will monitor progress (e.g., "Bronze layer hydration for Yardi") and highlight any slippage before it impacts the critical path.
- Deliverable & Documentation Management: Ensure that all program deliverables and documentation—including BRDs, Technical Design Docs, UAT Sign-offs, and Data Dictionaries—are produced, reviewed, and managed to a high standard.
- Repository Ownership: Manage the central program repository (Confluence/SharePoint), ensuring all artifacts are version-controlled, organized, and "audit-ready" for executive review.
- RAID Log Ownership: Maintain the Risks, Actions, Issues, and Decisions (RAID) log. You are responsible for chasing owners for updates and ensuring that decisions made in meetings are documented and translated into trackable tasks.
- Meeting Facilitation & Reporting: Schedule and lead daily stand-ups and sprint reviews. Capture precise minutes and assist in drafting weekly executive status reports and steering committee decks.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years in project coordination or junior PM roles, specifically within Data, BI, or Software Engineering projects.
- Planning Skills: Proven ability to build and manage project schedules (Gantt charts) by synthesizing complex inputs from multiple stakeholders.
- Documentation Rigor: A "perfectionist" approach to documentation and repository management. You should have experience ensuring document standards are met across a large team.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to "bring people together." You must be comfortable interviewing technical experts to extract status updates and planning details.
- Tools: Mastery of Azure DevOps/Jira and the Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel and PowerPoint are essential).
Preferred Skills (Bonus)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall hybrid methodologies.
- Basic understanding of Data Lakehouse concepts (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers).
- Experience in Financial Services or Private Equity (understanding terms like IRR, MOIC, or AUM).
- Experience managing offshore/onshore team dynamics.
Success Metrics (First 30 Days)
- Plan Ownership: Successfully integrates inputs from all active workstreams into a single, tracked master plan.
- Documentation Audit: 100% of program deliverables for the current phase are organized, signed off, and easily accessible.
- Variance Control: Proactively identifies at least 3 potential schedule delays before they occur by analyzing activity trends.
- Reliability: Becomes the "source of truth" for the Delivery Manager regarding the status of any specific task, document, or decision.
Structure & Compensation
- Reporting: Reports to the Delivery & Engagement Manager.
- Location: Remote-first (requires 3 hours of daily overlap with US/Los Angeles time zone).
- Compensation: Competitive base salary + performance-based bonus > upto 10 LPA
- Growth Path: Direct trajectory toward Project Manager or Delivery Manager roles within the Data & AI practice.
