Product Manager

Title: Product Manager
I’m looking for a Product Manager who is obsessive, productively anxious, skeptical, and an introverted deep thinker to join my team. (I had a few other words in mind, but P&C reminded me this is still a job post - not a Twitter rant)
No, I’m not kidding. I love misfits. If that sounds like you, come talk to me.
Remote role. +/-2 hours from KSA time zon
I thought I’d spare you another ChatGPT generated JD.
We’re hiring a craft-focused Product Manager to lead the subscription experience at Calo.
Inspired by Lenny’s definition of product management: PM shapes, syncs, and ships a product to drive impact.
At Calo, this means:
- Identifying customer and business problems to solve based on insights, data, and intuition.
- Aligning stakeholders through clear thinking, storytelling, and influential communication.
- Collaborating with engineers, designers, and analysts to creatively solve problems in a differentiated way.
- High Agency: You take initiative to get things done without waiting for perfect conditions or blaming circumstances. You have a tendency to step on toes, upset people, and take over their work.
- Clear Thinker: You have a knack for thinking deeply and a sharp ability to cut through noise, ambiguity, and chaos. You ask sharp questions and don’t hesitate to challenge ideas, regardless of who’s in the room.
- Obsession: You have an eye for detail and you deeply care about crafting a great experience. People find you annoying to work with.
- You’ll work on the core subscription experience at Calo - the region’s largest healthy meal subscription product.
- You’ll help solve mass personalization of healthy food at scale**.** We’re the only company on Earth doing this.
- You’ll work on a product that genuinely helps people live healthier and longer. Real purpose, not just pixels.
- Data informed, not driven. We use data but don’t shy away from making decisions based on intuition.
- Large scopes, regardless of seniority. Each PM has a fairly large scope to shape and craft the right impact for customers.
- Working on the right thing over doing it the right way. We care more about choosing the right problems to solve than obsessing over perfect process. We’ll give you some suggested practices, but how you build is up to you and your squad.
- Missing data: If you expect clean dashboards, well-tagged events, and airtight funnels, this isn’t it. Data is often missing, broken, or just doesn’t exist yet. We’re scaling fast and building new verticals, which means judgment > dashboards. You’ll need to think clearly even when the numbers don’t.
- Changing scopes: If you want a fixed roadmap with neatly defined priorities, this isn’t it. Scopes shift. Context evolves. New information drops mid-sprint. That won’t slow down anytime soon. We need people who can adapt quickly and still move forward with conviction.
- Low structure and limited handholding: If you’re looking for clear swim lanes and perfect clarity, this isn’t it. You’ll often find yourself flying through a cloud of chaos and ambiguity, expected to land the plane anyway. PMs here don’t wait for clarity; they create it.
Just like great products differentiate themselves in the market, we expect you to differentiate yourself from other candidates.
Find a way to tell your story. What are your superpowers? What are you obsessed with? What do people not understand about you?
