Product Director
About Airdev
For many decades, building custom software meant writing thousands of lines of code by hand. Today, AI has fundamentally changed what's possible. High-quality products can be built faster, cheaper, and with far less manual effort than ever before.
Airdev is a software development agency that has fully embraced this shift. We use AI-powered development tools and workflows to help clients, from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 enterprises, turn their ideas into powerful, scalable software.
About the Product Director role
We're looking for a Product Director to serve as the product architect across a portfolio of clients, owning product decisions, requirements, and design that guide what gets built.
You'll be involved at every stage. Early on, you'll partner with sales during discovery to understand what a prospective client is trying to accomplish. During scoping, you'll translate their goals into detailed product requirements, create application mockups with the help of designers, and build working prototypes using AI development tools like Claude Code. As client needs evolve, you'll continue refining the requirements, design, and prototypes for new iterations.
This is a highly strategic, client-facing role that blends product thinking, UX sensibility, business consulting, and hands-on prototyping with AI tools.
What you’ll do
- Partner with the sales team during discovery to assess prospective client needs and provide strategic input on proposals
- Work closely with clients to understand their business goals, users, and success criteria
- Define product requirements, including the key features, flows, and logic behind the application
- Build rapid prototypes using AI-powered development tools (like Claude Code) to validate ideas and demonstrate concepts to clients
- Collaborate with UX designers to turn requirements into detailed mockups that balance user experience, technical feasibility, and business value
- Continue refining requirements, design, and prototypes as client needs evolve
- Stay on the cutting edge of AI development tools and help shape how we use them across the team
Things we look for
We value a mix of hard and soft skills, as well as alignment to our core values (https://www.airdev.co/core-values), in all of our people. Some specific qualities for this role include:
- 5+ years of experience in product management, product consulting, or solutions architecture, ideally at an agency or across multiple industries and client types
- A tinkerer's mindset. You enjoy getting your hands dirty with new tools. You've used AI coding assistants, prototyping tools, or similar and are excited to push what's possible with them.
- Proven ability to take ambiguous client needs and turn them into clear, detailed product requirements
- Excellent communication skills. You can articulate product ideas and technical concepts clearly to both non-technical clients and technical teams.
- Analytical and structured thinking. You're good at deconstructing complex ideas into clear, logical requirements.
- Strong product sense and a commitment to simplicity. You find the cleanest, most intuitive solution rather than overengineering.
- Familiarity with modern development approaches, including AI coding tools, APIs, and databases, and genuine curiosity about how AI is changing software development
- Comfortable working across multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, remote environment
