Role Description

This is a remote, project-based role for a Product Designer at Mechanical Drafts.

The Product Designer will be responsible for developing CAD models, translating concepts into detailed engineering designs, and ensuring that all outputs are functional, manufacturable, and aligned with client requirements.

Additional responsibilities include refining designs based on feedback, preparing technical drawings, and collaborating with the team to deliver high-quality results within project timelines.

Qualifications:

• Strong skills in product design and CAD modeling, with attention to detail and functionality
• Proficiency in CAD software such as Fusion 360 (preferred), SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar
• Understanding of basic mechanical engineering principles
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM), dimensions, and tolerances
• Ability to translate concepts into practical, buildable designs
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
