Principal Developer (Future CTO Path)

VaultRight has developed the industry's first digital dual-control process. This technology allows us to revolutionize Bank branch operations by modernizing outdated risk and control processes via a mobile first application. We partner with banks and credit unions to digitally replace paper logs, electronically issue combinations, automate audit management, and proactively alert leadership of anomalies. IN addition, our unique All-Clear branch opening and closing tool is an investment in branch employees’ safety and security.


We are seeking a Principal Developer who will lead our technology strategy and execution, with a clear path to becoming our Chief Technology Officer (CTO).


Key Responsibilities


Technology Leadership:

  • Drive architectural decisions and oversee system performance improvements.

Team Management:

  • Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team. (currently outsourced)
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Product Development:

  • Oversee development of web and mobile applications using our current stack:

LAMP Stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)

  • Backend: PHP (Laravel)
  • Mobile: React Native (iOS & Android)
  • Web: React
  • Ensure secure integrations and optimal performance across platforms.

Infrastructure & Security:

  • Manage AWS environment, including EC2, RDS, S3, VPC configurations.
  • Maintain robust security practices: AES-256 / SHA-256 encryption, AWS Cognito for SSO.
  • Oversee daily backups and disaster recovery protocols.

Innovation & Scalability:

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and propose solutions for scalability and speed.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize load times and system performance.

Security

  • Responsibleness include security officer duties, responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring adherence to the organization's security policies and procedures.


Qualifications

Experience:

  • 4-8 years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role preferred.
  • Experience with Distributed Architecture (MQTT)
  • Proven experience with LAMP stack, Laravel, React, and React Native.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of API design and secure architecture.
  • Familiarity with Twilio, WonderPush, and modern notification systems.

Leadership Skills:

  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with executives.

Preferred:

  • Strong understanding of AWS cloud services, including architecture and deployment best practices.
  • Proven experience scaling SaaS platforms and implementing enterprise-grade security measures to ensure reliability and compliance.
  • Background in Fintech, with familiarity in regulatory requirements and financial technology ecosystems.
