Podcast Producer
At OpenDor Media, we’re looking for a creative, collaborative, and detail-oriented Podcast Producer to join our growing audio team. This role blends two key components: department-wide production support and full ownership of one flagship show.
You’ll help drive production for ODM’s expanding slate of podcasts — Unpacking Israeli History, Wondering Jews, Jewish History Nerds, and more — while serving as the Executive Producer of Wondering Jews. In that capacity, you’ll shape its creative vision, guide the hosts, manage guests and timelines, and ensure every episode captures the show’s trademark curiosity and heart.
The ideal candidate is equal parts storyteller and organizer — someone who thrives at the intersection of creative development, production management, and relationship-building. You’ll bring both structure and imagination to every project, helping ODM continue to create thoughtful, high-quality audio that sparks curiosity and connection.

Salary:
Our target salary range for this position when based in New York is $80,000 - $90,000 annually. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate's exact location, experience in similar roles, and expertise related to the qualifications.

What You’ll Do:
Department-Wide (Assistant Producer Role)
- Support producers across all ODM podcasts with research, guest outreach, and pre-production.
- Assist with scriptwriting, editing, episode prep (pulling clips, drafting outlines, fact-checking), and transcript review.
- Track production calendars, delivery deadlines, and team communications.
- Collaborate with post-production teams to review cuts, give notes, and ensure editorial consistency.
- Support marketing and social media teams with episode metadata, quotes, and clips.
- Contribute creative ideas for episodes, new series, and cross-show collaborations.
- Own the creative and operational execution of Wondering Jews — leading from concept to release.
- Work closely with hosts, Mijal and Noam, to shape season arcs, episode flow, tone, and pacing.
- Oversee booking, guest prep, and outreach, ensuring every episode is rich in content and aligned with the show’s mission.
- Manage production workflows — from recording to post-production — ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for hosts, editors, and marketing partners.
- Partner with the Marketing and Social teams to develop impactful promotional content, audience growth strategies, and visual assets for the Wondering Jews channels.
- Innovate: propose new formats, recurring segments, and event opportunities to deepen listener engagement.
What You Have:
- Proven experience producing or executive producing podcasts (conversation-driven or documentary-style).
- Strong editorial judgment and storytelling skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with a track record of delivering high-quality content on schedule.
- Experience in collaborating with Social Media specialists in developing the most robust Social Media plans for podcast growth and impact.
- Experience managing talent and high-profile hosts/guests.
- Familiarity with podcast production tools (e.g., Riverside, Descript, ProTools, etc.).
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work well under pressure.
- Passion for Jewish ideas, culture, and identity (and ability to navigate sensitive/nuanced conversations).
