Partner

Company Description

Control Group is a venture formation platform that helps scientists and engineers turn patented university technology into real startups. We handle the 0->1 legwork - market research, customer discovery, company formation, legal infrastructure, grant strategy, CEO matching, and early fundraising - so faculty can commercialize their work without stepping away from research or becoming startup operators.

Role Description

As a Control Group Partner, you'll be embedded in the research or engineering ecosystem at your university and work directly on the ground floor of faculty-led startups. Partners source faculty projects through their network and support early execution by conducting market research, parallelized market evaluation, and customer discovery. When projects require capital, legal work, templates, or fundraising support, Partners tap into Control Group's centralized infrastructure - think of us as your home base.

This is a highly flexible, commission-based, remote role: Partners can source and work on as many (or as few) projects as they want. In return, Partners earn single-digit equity in the startups they help spin out, bonuses when any non-dilutive funding is awarded to client companies, and hands-on experience building real university spinouts from zero to one.
