About The Role
We’re hiring a sharp, strategic, and dependable Director of Paid Media to lead all advertising, social content strategy, and email marketing at Halstead Media Group.
In this role, you'll oversee a team of paid media managers and freelancers while owning performance across Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn, organic social posting direction, and email nurture strategy.
You’ll shape high-impact campaign strategies, guide creative direction, elevate team performance, and continuously improve systems, reporting, and results—measured in Revenue generated for the client, leads, CPL, and ROI, not vanity metrics.
You’ll act as the performance voice for Halstead’s clients and ensure paid channels, social content, and email campaigns all work together to drive growth.
This role is 99% remote, with optional in-person training or team events once a year.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead strategy and performance across all paid media platforms
- Oversee paid media managers, freelancers, and ad specialists
- Guide creative direction for ads, landing pages, and testing frameworks
- Set KPIs, pacing strategies, and cross-channel alignment for all accounts
- Maintain strong QA processes, reporting, and campaign governance
- Collaborate with PMs, designers, copywriters, and leadership on campaign planning
- Act as the primary escalation point for performance or strategy pivots
- Trial new processes and software to improve efficiency and or results.
- Direct campaign structure, targeting, budget allocation, pacing, and optimization
- Review ad copy, creative assets, and landing pages for conversion clarity
- Lead weekly and monthly insights, recommendations, and performance narratives
- Troubleshoot tracking, conversion issues, and platform inconsistencies
- Develop audience strategies, retargeting systems, and nurture funnels
- Provide strategic direction for social content across clients
- Review monthly social calendars and ensure messaging supports performance
- Ensure alignment between organic content, paid campaigns, and seasonal priorities
- Support creative and editorial development where needed
- Oversee email nurture strategy and messaging direction
- Advise on automation flows, segmentation, and value-based nurturing
- Ensure strong alignment between email, ad campaigns, and client goals
- Partner closely with copy and design for StoryBrand-aligned creative
- Coordinate with PMs to align campaign priorities and client needs
- Work closely with SEO for cross channel optimizations.
- Coach team members to strengthen reporting, performance thinking, and testing
- Participate in tool evaluations, internal systems planning, and team development
- Are a performance strategist with a bias for action
- Have 4–7+ years managing paid media campaigns
- Have experience managing and mentoring media buyers or specialists
- Love analytics, creative testing, and proving ROI
- Write strong ad copy and understand value messaging
- Are organized, accountable, and process-driven
- Take ownership of results and lead with clarity
- Experience with HubSpot or similar CRMs
- Familiarity with GA4, attribution, and forecasting
- Experience reviewing or guiding landing page UX
- Creative-direction experience for ads or social content
- Background in the lawn, landscape, or outdoor living industry
- Understanding of StoryBrand messaging
