About the Role:
Join shortart.co as a Motion Graphic Animator/Artist Intern and gain hands-on experience crafting short-form motion design/animating. This unpaid internship emphasizes educational value, mentorship, and professional development. Work closely with experienced artists, produce motion assets and style frames, and contribute to creative projects under supervision and a learning plan.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create motion graphics, animated titles, and short sequences or logo aligned with briefs and brand/tone.
• Develop style frames, mood boards, and simple animatics to communicate concepts.
• Collaborate with creative teams on asset prep, typography, sound sync, and pacing.
• Participate in critiques, brainstorming, and project reviews; iterate based on feedback.
• Prepare deliverables for multiple platforms (social, web, festival screens) and basic handoff files.
Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in or graduated from an art, animation, motion design, or related program.
• Seeking academic credit or mentorship with a defined learning plan.
• Proficiency or training in tools such as After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop; familiarity with Premiere and/or a 3D package (e.g., Cinema 4D) is a plus. (Beginner level - basic level of understanding at least PLEASE)
• Basic understanding of typography, composition, color theory, and timing/pacing in motion.
• For OPT students: Position is unpaid and structured to meet DOL criteria for unpaid internships; coordination with the school’s DSO required.
