Job Title: Marketing Manager
Pay Rate: $75- $100/hr on W2
Contract Duration: 6 months (01/01/2026 - 06/30/2026)
Location: Remote — Willing to consider fully remote candidates, but prefer at Stanford CA 94305
Shift/Hours: Part-time, 16 hours per week (2 days/week, flexible hours and schedule as long as project deadlines are met)
Parking: If candidates are local, they are responsible for paying for parking on their own expenses for when required onsite
Interview process: Zoom interview, 1st round quick screening, 2- Panel with the team, 3 rounds – Faculty director. Exercise between round 2 and 3 – Help creating marketing plan etc.
** Must have a portfolio in order to submit. Preference is local, candidates should use their own laptop but open to discussion.

About the role
You will play a key role in supporting the launch of the new client by developing timely content related to our research, academic experiences, and convenings. You will help grow awareness of the client by developing timely content to serve our primary audiences: internal (faculty, students, staff) and external (alumni, academic and industry leaders in business, government, and society, policymakers).
Your primary responsibilities and contributions will support ongoing programming by:
● Maintaining the Client’s website with latest content and design updates (to be launched in 2026)
● Developing event marketing materials
● Developing and distributing a quarterly client newsletter
● Working with writers to craft stories on research projects, events, and more
● Creating social content and managing client social channels (to be launched)
● Coordinating with GSB communications and partner teams to amplify client news on GSB and partner channels
● Maintaining consistency of the client’s messaging and brand usage
You will work closely with members of the client staff leadership team on all of these engagements. We are here to support your success.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
● Experience building and executing cross-functional marketing programs. Excellent understanding of audience needs by medium and ability to create standout content.
● Excellent web and social media management and writing skills. Ability to create timely and high quality pieces for web, email, social media, and print.
● Creative, design-forward in approach. Well-rounded ability to do some light design work (e.g., newsletter layout, image photoshopping) with fluency in digital design tools to support written content pieces with integrated design and templates.
● Strategic thinking with tactical execution. Ability to set and implement high-level communications goals and execute to those goals. Demonstrated interest in research and academia-based content is a plus.
● Valued contributor. Responsive, process-driven partner, with excellent attention to detail and time management.
● Comfort with managing through ambiguity in building something from the ground up.
Requirements:
Minimum requirements
● Bachelors degree required
● 5-7 total years of marketing experience with 3-5 years of digital communications experience
● Comfortable with client setting, guidelines and tools (Gsuite, Slack, Drupal, Instagram, X, LinkedIn)
