Position Overview


We are seeking a Remote Legal Assistant with experience in U.S. immigration law to support attorneys and case staff in preparing and managing immigration matters. This role requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced remote environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with immigration forms, supporting-document collection, client communication, case tracking, and attorney support. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to grow within a mission-driven immigration law practice.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and organize immigration case files and supporting documents
  • Assist with drafting and revising USCIS and immigration court forms and packets
  • Communicate with clients regarding document requests, case updates, and next steps
  • Track deadlines, follow up on missing items, and maintain accurate case status records
  • Review submissions for completeness, consistency, and quality before attorney review
  • Organize digital files, evidence, translations, and correspondence in a clear and orderly manner
  • Support attorneys with declarations, cover letters, packet assembly, and case preparation
  • Monitor requests for evidence, interview preparation needs, and filing deadlines
  • Coordinate internally with attorneys and team members to keep cases moving efficiently
  • Help improve workflows, templates, and case management processes where appropriate


Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual ability, especially English/Spanish or English/Farsi-Dari
  • Prior experience working in U.S. immigration law as a legal assistant, paralegal, or case manager
  • Familiarity with common immigration forms such as I-130, I-485, I-589, I-765, I-131, N-400, and related supporting documentation
  • Experience communicating directly with clients in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies or missing information
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines at the same time
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Comfortable working remotely with accountability and minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with asylum, removal defense, waivers, consular processing, or family-based cases
  • Experience using immigration case management systems such as Docketwise, Clio, LawLogix, Salesforce, or similar tools
  • Experience preparing declarations, evidence packets, or responses to RFEs
  • Experience in a high-volume immigration practice

Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
