As Lead QA Engineer at Sharetec, you’ll shape and drive the future of our test automation and quality strategy while managing a skilled QA team. You’ll work hands-on to architect automated testing frameworks, streamline QA operations, and ensure high software reliability across our cloud-based fintech platform. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to implement best practices, raise quality standards, and help credit unions deliver secure, user-friendly experiences. This is a full-time, exempt, remote position open to candidates residing in any U.S. state, with the exception of California. The starting salary for this position is $160,000 - $180,000 based on experience.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Automation Leadership
- Architect, implement, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for web, mobile, and API layers.
- Lead the adoption and optimization of CI/CD-enabled automated testing pipelines.
- Partner with DevOps and Engineering to enhance test reliability, speed, and coverage.
- Evaluate new automation tools, technologies, and strategies that elevate product quality and team productivity.
- Develop, document, and maintain test plans and QA best practices for distributed teams.
- Manage and mentor a blended on-shore/off-shore QA team to foster technical growth, career development, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead test planning, prioritization, and defect management for releases.
- Own delivery of QA milestones, ensuring team accountability and cross-functional transparency.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to align QA outcomes with business goals.
- Provide regular feedback, coaching, and support to ensure team contribution and engagement.
- Define test metrics and process improvement goals for the QA team.
- Drive root cause analysis for defects and champion systemic quality improvements.
- Act as a subject matter expert for automation, quality standards, and testing best practices at Sharetec.
- Influence product architecture by advocating for testability and automation-first design.
- Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve quality outcomes.
In Your First 30 Days:
- Build a clear understanding of Sharetec’s architecture, product domain, and QA strategy.
- Complete onboarding, review existing automation frameworks, and propose initial improvements.
- Lead your first test planning session, setting priorities for upcoming releases.
- Implement or upgrade impactful automation frameworks, demonstrating measurable improvements in test coverage and execution speed.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with Engineering and Product teams.
- Begin mentoring QA engineers, providing actionable feedback on test cases and processes.
- Serve as the technical and strategic owner of QA automation and process improvement.
- Drive ongoing advancements in test quality, enabling consistent, confident software releases.
- Enable your team to deliver measurable, high-impact QA outcomes for Sharetec and our credit union clients.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional QA/QE experience, including leadership of automation initiatives and QA teams.
- Deep proficiency with at least one major automation framework (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.).
- Advanced experience designing and maintaining automated tests for web, API, and/or mobile applications.
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD workflows and cloud environments.
- Proven ability to set QA strategy, foster team growth, and drive quality process improvements.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, testing patterns, and performance validation.
- Excellent communication skills for driving cross-functional collaboration and articulating technical ideas.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience serving as a QA lead or manager in Agile/Scrum fintech environments.
- Hands-on experience with test management tools and metrics-driven QA improvement.
- Experience securing QA processes and integrating with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, etc.).
- Prior experience working with financial technology platforms or regulated environments.
