Junior Web Developer
Rosemont Media is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Web Developer to join our team. In this role, you’ll help craft high-quality websites and digital solutions for our niche client base, which focuses on elective healthcare practices. This is a full-time, remote position. Candidates must be available to work standard business hours in the Pacific Time Zone (8:00 am - 4:40 pm PT) to align with team operations.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)
- Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of websites and web applications under the guidance of senior developers.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript code.
- Collaborate with designers and developers to implement responsive, user-friendly website layouts.
- Support the addition and integration of content and assets in WordPress.
- Add, update, and edit pages, posts, and custom post types in WordPress.
- Update WordPress core files and plugins, ensuring compatibility and site performance.
- Make front-end updates using HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript as needed.
- Utilize assets and design specifications from tools like Figma.
- Crop, resize, and optimize images for the web using photo editing software.
- Audit websites for performance, page speed, and best practices; suggest and implement improvements.
- Update and maintain tools like Google Search Console and Google Analytics.
- Troubleshoot and resolve front-end bugs or formatting issues across different browsers and devices.
- Participate in code reviews and QA testing.
- Stay up to date with web development trends, tools, and best practices.
- Assist with ongoing website updates, maintenance tasks, and performance monitoring.
- Communicate progress and issues clearly to project managers and team members.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Web Development or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 1-3 years of experience in web development.
- Must be located in San Diego, CA.
- Experience using WordPress (adding/updating content and maintaining plugins).
- Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript(jQuery), and PHP8.
- Ability to perform duties on a Mac.
- Capable of discerning problems, facilitating solutions, and spotting inconsistencies or technical issues that may not be clearly visible.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn from feedback.
- Ability to organize, analyze and prioritize workload effectively and efficiently, under minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
- Collaborates effectively with team members and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
- Has a keen eye for design and user experience, and values well-crafted, user-friendly websites.
