About The Role

Bonsai is seeking a talented and motivated Mid-Level React/Next.js Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing fast, accessible, and scalable front-end applications tailored for a diverse range of clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, backend developers, and stakeholders, to translate project requirements into high-quality digital solutions.

The role involves leading the development of new features, building reusable components, and ensuring optimal performance through server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG). You will also mentor contract developers, conduct code reviews, and contribute to process improvements, all while staying current with the latest trends in front-end development. Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a front-end or full-stack developer
  • Expertise with React.js and Next.js, including SSR and SSG
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript (ES6+)
  • Solid understanding of front-end architecture and component design patterns
  • Experience with styled-components and responsive layout systems
  • Familiarity with RESTful and GraphQL APIs
  • Experience integrating CMS systems such as WordPress or Umbraco
  • Proficiency with Git, CI/CD workflows, and agile collaboration tools
  • Strong debugging skills; bonus for experience with AI debugging tools like Cursor or Claude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and provide technical guidance to contract developers
  • Bonus: Familiarity with back-end technologies such as C# or .NET

Responsibilities

  • Develop new features and reusable components using React and Next.js
  • Build high-performance web pages utilizing SSR and SSG techniques
  • Ensure accessibility compliance, optimize Core Web Vitals, and maintain mobile responsiveness
  • Integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs with front-end applications
  • Collaborate with designers, backend developers, and stakeholders to deliver seamless digital experiences
  • Guide and review contract developers, providing technical mentorship and direction
  • Leverage AI tools such as Cursor to streamline debugging and development workflows
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration processes
  • Contribute to process improvements and stay updated with emerging front-end technologies
  • Present technical solutions clearly to clients and cross-functional teams
