HR Generalist – Work from Home, Make a Real Impact

We’re looking for a true HR Generalist to join Purple Playground. Our team is supportive and down-to-earth - no egos, no hierarchy – and we value fun, connection, and work that makes a real difference to people.

You’ll feel at home if you’ve survived (and maybe even thrived) flying solo in HR, juggling admin and advisory work across a mix of clients and priorities.

We are a remote team that works from home - no commute, no office politics, no corporate noise, and no awkward kitchen chats about someone’s mysterious yoghurt – making it easier to build a lifestyle that works for you. We’re open to full-time or part-time options, as long as our team and clients are covered Monday to Friday.

If you’re within an hour of the Gold Coast, even better. We love connecting in person for client visits, team meeting days, and our annual Team Alignment Week – a few nights away at a local hotel with good food, professional and personal development, honest conversations, and a bit of fun.

Our work predominantly centres around:

Providing General HR Advice – we are the sounding board for business owners and leaders who genuinely care about doing right by their team
Coaching Leaders to build their HR capability and help them feel confident in how they show up for their teams
Interpreting Modern Awards, checking classifications and pay rates
Supporting performance conversations
Drafting and updating contracts, policies, and HR documents and processes that are practical, compliant, and reflect client needs

And when needed, you’ll also step into more complex situations:

Managing grievances and misconduct processes
Assisting with restructures and terminations
Contributing to workforce planning and team structure discussions

We’d be especially excited if you enjoy workshop facilitation and coming up with innovative ways to help our clients attract, engage, and retain great employees.
