Pathways to Services Development is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Fremont, California, dedicated to uplifting individuals and families impacted by addiction, incarceration, homelessness, and trauma. We are building a network of transformational programs that go beyond traditional services—focusing on healing, stability, and empowerment.

Our initiatives include:

Family Stability Support to help households overcome crises and build sustainable futures

Sober Living Environments that provide safe, supportive housing for individuals in recovery

Peer Support & Mentorship to connect lived experience professionals with those in need

Tenant Readiness & Life Skills Workshops that prepare clients for long-term housing success

Youth & Family Empowerment Programs to break cycles of trauma and foster resilience

Role Description: Advisory Board Member (Grant Strategy & Development)

This is a remote, volunteer advisory role designed for professionals with experience in grant writing, fundraising strategy, and nonprofit growth. Advisory Board Members play a key role in shaping the vision, offering strategic guidance, and supporting the organization’s development and sustainability efforts.

Responsibilities:

Provide insight and support on grant strategy, funding opportunities, and proposal development

Participate in strategic planning sessions to align funding with organizational goals

Attend quarterly virtual board meetings and occasional work sessions

Collaborate with other advisory members to strengthen organizational infrastructure and visibility

Help identify partnerships and funding streams such as CalAIM (Medi-Cal billing for peer support services), private foundations, and corporate philanthropy


Qualifications

Proven grant writing or grant management experience

Strong analytical and financial acumen

Background in nonprofit fundraising, research, or program development

Excellent written and verbal communication

Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment

Passion for serving communities impacted by trauma, homelessness, and recovery

Previous nonprofit or advisory experience is a plus
