We are looking for a hands-on GIS Business Analyst to support a 10-week engagement focused on geospatial data integration, automation, and spatial analytics supporting infrastructure and data-center related initiatives.
This role requires someone who can own work end-to-end — from ingesting and structuring geospatial datasets, to performing spatial analysis, to delivering insights through dashboards and executive-ready visuals.
The ideal candidate combines strong ArcGIS Online expertise, scripting/automation skills, and practical experience working with complex datasets in cloud or enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
● Build and maintain automated data ingestion workflows for spatial and non-spatial datasets.
● Integrate and standardize datasets across multiple formats and sources.
● Manage and publish GIS content in ArcGIS Online including feature services, web maps, and dashboards.
● Develop scripts and lightweight tooling using Python and JavaScript to automate GIS workflows.
● Work with GitHub version control for code management and collaboration.
● Support cloud-based data workflows using Microsoft Azure, Databricks, or similar platforms.
Spatial Analysis & Modeling● Perform weighted overlay modeling, suitability analysis, and spatial prioritization.
● Conduct geospatial analytics supporting infrastructure, utilities, and real estate initiatives.
● Consolidate spatial, imagery, and tabular data into structured datasets usable for analysis and reporting.
Stakeholder Support & Insights● Produce GIS-driven insights, dashboards, and visualizations for business stakeholders.
● Translate spatial analysis into clear business insights for leadership teams.
● Integrate GIS outputs into executive-level presentations and reporting materials.
Required ExperienceCore Technical SkillsCandidates should have strong practical experience in most of the following:
● ESRI ArcGIS Online (web maps, feature layers, dashboards, administration)
● Python scripting for GIS automation (ArcPy, Pandas, or similar)
● JavaScript for basic GIS tools or application customization
● Spatial data processing and integration
● Working with multiple GIS formats (shapefile, GeoJSON, geodatabases, imagery)
● Version control with GitHub
Data & Cloud ToolsExperience with one or more of the following is strongly preferred:
● Microsoft Azure
● Databricks
● Data ingestion pipelines
● Data transformation and automation workflows
Domain Exposure (Preferred)Experience supporting infrastructure, utilities, energy, or real estate projects where geospatial analysis informs business decisions.
