Join Altera as a Federal Contract Manager! The Federal Contract Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of federal government contracts and subcontracts, ensuring the organization remains in 100% compliance with federal regulations while mitigating legal risk. This role serves as the primary liaison between the company and Government Contracting Officers (COs), and the company and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lifecycle Management: Manage the "Cradle-to-Grave" contract process, including RFP analysis, proposal development, negotiation, administration, and closeout.
  • Compliance Oversight: Act as the subject matter expert on Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Negotiation: Lead negotiations on complex terms, conditions, and pricing with government agencies and prime contractors.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Subcontract Management: Oversee the issuance and management of subcontracts, ensuring mandatory flow-down clauses are included.
  • Audit Support: Serve as the lead point of contact for DCAA/DCMA audits and ensure all documentation is always “audit-ready”.
  • Contract Types: Manage a diverse portfolio including FFP, CPFF, CPIF, and Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreements.
  • Strategic Bidding: Advise leadership on the pros/cons of different contract vehicles.

Salary Range

The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.

$115.1K - $166.7K USD

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Government, or a related field.
  • Minimum: 5+ years in Federal Contract Administration or Management.
  • Experience with full life cycle contract management for CPFF, FFP, and T&M government and commercial contracts.
  • A strong working knowledge of US Government contracting including FAR/DFARS experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. You are highly respected amongst your peers and/or counterparts and known as someone who gets things done.
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
