Executive Director
Company Description
DocSong (Documentary Songwriters) connects musicians with individuals to transform personal stories into songs, fostering empathy, connection, and shared humanity. Through the Documentary Songwriting Method, DocSong trains Teaching Artists and collaborates with organizations globally on impactful projects. These projects have addressed cultural and social issues — building understanding between communities, amplifying marginalized voices, and telling powerful personal stories. DocSong's work has been featured on prominent platforms like TEDx and NPR's Morning Edition, showcasing its mission to create meaningful connections through music.
Role Description
DocSong is seeking a part-time Executive Director (20 hours/week) to lead our small, mission-driven organization through an exciting period of growth and transition. In 2026, we're launching a fellowship program, welcoming new leadership, and building toward long-term sustainability.
This is a part-time W-2 employee role within a two-person leadership model. You'll work closely with a Program Director while leading strategy, fundraising, external relations, and organizational health. It's a strong fit for someone who thrives in small organizations, builds relationships with care, and wants meaningful work that fits a flexible, self-directed schedule.
You don't need to be a musician — but you should believe in music as a tool for connection and social change.
