They are seeking a Distributed Systems Engineer to help evolve and innovate their data infrastructure, focusing on building scalable solutions and enhancing the experience of data practitioners across the company.

Responsibilities

Developing the control plane, compute resource management, and data reliability and availability.
Creating scalable, high-leverage infrastructure tailored to the demands of running data systems.
Building features and performance enhancements and working closely with open source communities.
Developing and maintaining high-performance, reliable, and efficient datastores.
Creating and managing computing workflows that leverage the full power of the Netflix Data Platform.
Building and operationalizing foundational services to manage the lifecycle of core tables critical for all analytical, reporting, and data decision needs.
Architecting and building a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.
Leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with engineers, product managers, and TPM across teams.

Qualification

Required

2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems features or applications.
Proficient in the design and development of RESTful web services.
Experienced in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
Experienced in Java or other object-oriented programming languages.
Comfortable tackling multi-threading challenges.
BS in Computer Science or a related field.
