Position Overview
We are seeking a Director of Hotel Financial Data Operations to lead the critical function of onboarding, managing, validating, and troubleshooting financial data from customer hotels into Singlepane's business intelligence platform. As the first hire in this department, this individual will play a foundational role in shaping the data operations function and will have the opportunity to grow into a leadership position as the company scales.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in hotel finance (preferably in a multi-property or above-property role), combined with technical expertise, analytical acumen, and a passion for solving complex data problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Data Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end process of loading, validating, mapping and managing customer financial data in the Singlepane platform.
- Data Problem Solving: Identify and resolve data inconsistencies and anomalies to ensure accurate reporting.
- Mapping Integrity: Maintain singlepane's standardized USALI-compliant chart of accounts and the mapping of hotel data to it. Ensure consistency and accuracy of all data mapping.
- Customer Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for customer data issues, troubleshooting problems, and guiding clients through solutions.
- Process Development: Establish workflows, tools, and best practices for managing inbound customer data to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the product and engineering teams to enhance the platform’s data-handling capabilities.
- Leadership Opportunity: Build and lead a team of data specialists as the department grows.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in hotel finance, preferably in a multi-property or above-property role.
- Deep understanding of hotel accounting, ERP, and FP&A tools.
- Understanding of USALI (Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Familiarity with financial software platforms and business intelligence tools.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and identify patterns or discrepancies.
- Experience in a customer/external-facing role, with excellent communication skills to explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to take ownership of projects, with a desire to grow into a leadership role.
