We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Customer Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their shopping experience is positive and efficient. This role involves helping customers with their inquiries, processing transactions, and maintaining the overall appearance of the store.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service: Greet and assist customers in a courteous and professional manner. Address customer inquiries, provide product information, and resolve any issues promptly.

Sales Assistance: Help customers locate products and make informed purchasing decisions. Promote special offers, loyalty programs, and suggest complementary products to enhance the customer’s shopping experience.

Transaction Processing: Accurately process sales transactions at the register, including handling cash, credit/debit card payments, and processing returns or exchanges. Ensure all transactions are completed with precision and attention to detail.

Store Presentation: Assist in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the store. Replenish stock, ensure shelves are well-stocked and displays are attractive and up-to-date.

Inventory Management: Participate in stock checks and inventory counts as needed. Report low stock levels to the manager and assist with restocking merchandise.

Product Knowledge: Stay informed about new products, promotions, and store policies. Share relevant information with customers to enhance their shopping experience.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the store. Assist colleagues with tasks as needed and contribute to a positive team environment.

Customer Feedback: Gather and report customer feedback to the management team. Suggest improvements based on customer interactions to enhance the overall customer experience.

Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both customers and staff. Report any potential hazards or incidents to management.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or training in customer service or retail is a plus.

Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.

Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally.

Basic math skills for handling transactions.

Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work well in a team and independently.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry merchandise, and perform tasks that require physical effort.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Knowledge of inventory management processes.

Familiarity with the products or services offered by the store.
