- Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, evolution, ecology, animal and plant physiology, and biodiversity. Ability to explain cellular respiration, photosynthesis, DNA replication, Mendelian and molecular genetics, natural selection, and ecosystem dynamics while preparing students for organic chemistry, biochemistry, and professional school entrance examinations including the MCAT.
- Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at breaking down metabolic pathways, genetic crosses, and evolutionary mechanisms. Guides students through interpreting experimental data, constructing phylogenetic trees, solving genetics problems, and analyzing ecological interactions quantitatively. Emphasizes scientific reasoning and experimental design, connecting biology to biomedical research, biotechnology, conservation biology, and public health applications.
- Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with introductory college biology curricula spanning two semesters and common challenges such as understanding gene expression regulation, distinguishing meiosis from mitosis, and applying evolutionary principles. Adapts instruction using visual diagrams, virtual lab simulations, and MCAT-aligned practice to support pre-medical, biology major, and general education students at the college level.
- Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
