We’re seeking a skilled Cloudflare Security and Operations Engineer who will be responsible for managing and securing our clients' online presence on the Cloudflare platform.


This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on with automation, has deep expertise in Cloudflare WAF, and thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Automate day-to-day tasks using Python, APIs, and Terraform.
  • Configure customer domains, perform domain moves, and manage SSL/TLS certificates with minimal service disruption.
  • Manage Cloudflare WAF rules to defend against emerging threats.
  • Detect and remediate Brute Force Attacks (BFA) and DDoS attempts.
  • Manage IP blocks, OFAC compliance, geo-blocking, ASN filtering, user agent controls.
  • Maintain and update KV pairs and Cloudflare Worker code.
  • Analyze and respond to security incidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
  • Configure and manage log push jobs for accurate logging of security events.
  • Implement BYOIP policies to maintain IP and ASN integrity.
  • Decommission domains and clean up Cloudflare resources effectively.
  • Perform zone migrations between Cloudflare accounts/environments with minimal disruption.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for security and operational improvements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and internal knowledge bases.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a Cloudflare WAF Engineer role.
  • Proficiency in Cloudflare platform security features, including WAF, DNS, and TLS.
  • Strong scripting and automation experience using Python, Terraform, and APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with KV entries, Worker code, and Cloudflare APIs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident resolution capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exposure to public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Understanding of OWASP rules, WAF managed rulesets, and bot management (good to have).
  • Familiarity with agile tools like Jira and ServiceNow.
