Claims Processing Support Analyst I

Department Overview
Claims Benefit Administration (CBA) area supports the analysis, design and implementation of group benefits, the creation of Summary Plan Descriptions, the development of Blue Exchange records, the creation of Benefits Online and day-to-day involvement in the development and implementation of strategies designed to address complex processing issues through project implementation. CBA also is involved in process improvements and maintenance on behalf of the Claims Division which support our Divisional, Corporate, and Mandated initiatives. Our highly technical projects support the enhancement of critical benefit application, system corrections, mandated changes and corporate initiatives which affect global areas of Claims Processing.
Primary Responsibilities
Plans, organizes and coordinates efforts required to deliver continuous improvement and support of initiatives that further corporate and divisional goals and objectives. Support is offered to Claims Management and staff as well as other corporate divisions and departments of the company and includes interaction with associates at all levels. Associates are expected to utilize corporately accepted and standard project management methodology. The incumbent will guide initiatives through the steps of analysis, design, documentation, technical interpretation, execution, and monitoring of mandated, strategic, enhancement and core business initiatives. It is critical the associate in the position stays knowledgeable of project management techniques and ongoing initiatives throughout the organization.

Summary Of Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience researching and analyzing data
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
- Experience managing multiple projects with various priorities
- Experience working independently without direct supervision
- Experience in continuous improvement, quality initiatives, and business problem solving through experience in business, project, or information services
- Demonstrated skills in workflow documentation and requirements gathering
- Experience building collaborative relationships and communicating effectively with all levels of associates and managers within the organization
- Experience presenting information in formal settings
- Claims processing experience preferred
- Experience translating technical and corporate terminology to a variety of target audiences preferred
- Crystal reporting experience preferred
- Claims Coordinator experience preferred
- FEP Experience Preferred
- Knowledge of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama's claims processing procedures preferred
- Previous Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama experience preferred
