Key Objectives
- Deliver high-quality captions and transcriptions for lectures, webinars, and other educational materials.
- Ensure content is accessible and compliant with relevant standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with faculty and media teams to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.
- Transcribe audio and video recordings accurately, maintaining the original meaning and tone.
- Create closed captions and subtitles that align with audio content and timing.
- Review and edit transcripts and captions to ensure error-free and clear output.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive educational materials responsibly.
- Adhere to accessibility standards such as ADA and Section 508 compliance.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with academic staff and technical teams to resolve any content-related issues.
- Proven experience in transcription, captioning, or related roles, preferably within education or media sectors.
- Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Familiarity with captioning software and transcription tools (e.g., Express Scribe, Adobe Premiere, or similar).
- Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic understanding of accessibility standards and best practices.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
