Compensation: $55,000 to $70,000 per year (plus commission and bonuses); $200,000+ overall compensation


Job Overview

Our client, a rapidly-growing clean energy company based in Texas that focuses on utility-scale solar construction, electrical services, and civil land development, is looking to bring on an exceptional Business Development Manager to support the company's continued growth. This position is a full-time role with our client and will lead to a director-level position.


Job Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Sales Leadership: Identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities for utility-scale solar, electrical services, and land development projects to achieve aggressive revenue targets.
  • Technical Estimating & Takeoffs: Conducting detailed quantity and material takeoffs on electrical systems, including conduit runs, underground cabling, interconnection points, and labor estimation to ensure bid accuracy.
  • Pipeline Management: Cultivating and maintaining long-term strategic partnerships with utility-scale project developers and EPCs, specifically targeting portfolios in the Southern United States.
  • Proposal Development: Creating comprehensive, professional cost estimates and bids that encompass the electrical and mechanical integration to civil site preparation.
  • Market Intelligence: Staying informed of utility sector trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to maintain the company’s position as a premier solutions provider.

Successful Candidates Must Have:

  • Proven Utility-Scale Experience: A track record of successfully negotiating and executing large-scale solar contracts with developers and/or EPCs.
  • Estimating Expertise: Advanced proficiency in electrical system estimating and the ability to translate blueprints into precise material and labor takeoffs.
  • Existing Network: A strong book of business of established relationships with EPCs and developers, with a preference for experience in the Southern US market.
  • Technical Aptitude: Deep knowledge of solar utility-scale project lifecycles, including site clearing, trenching, and complex AC/DC electrical integration.
  • Self-Starter Drive: The ability to work remotely and independently while maintaining high energy and a go-getter attitude
