About Turing:

Based in San Francisco, California, Turing is the world’s leading research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a trusted partner for global enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. Turing supports customers in two ways: first, by accelerating frontier research with high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, plus top AI researchers who specialize in coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and agents; and second, by applying that expertise to help enterprises transform AI from proof of concept into proprietary intelligence with systems that perform reliably, deliver measurable impact, and drive lasting results on the P&L.

Role Overview:

We are seeking detail-oriented professionals with strong computer literacy to contribute to the creation of a large-scale computer usage dataset that trains intelligent systems to understand real-world user interactions with software applications. This role is essential for capturing, annotating, and validating screen-based activity that powers next-generation AI models for workflow comprehension and user behavior analysis.

What Does Day-to-Day look like:

  • Record your screen while performing assigned computer-based tasks that simulate real-world software usage.
  • Follow detailed step-by-step documentation to execute multi-step workflows accurately.
  • Ensure all recordings are high-quality, complete, and free from interruptions.
  • Label or verify user interaction events (clicks, keystrokes, on-screen actions) as instructed.
  • Maintain consistency in documentation, task execution, and file naming conventions.
  • Handle all data responsibly and adhere to strict privacy and confidentiality protocols.

Type of Tasks:

You’ll complete and record tasks across a diverse set of software environments, such as:

  • Education & Productivity Tools: learning platforms, scheduling, and organizational apps.
  • Software & Development Environments: installing or configuring IDEs or tools (no coding required).
  • Data & Analytics Platforms: exploring dashboards or monitoring systems.
  • Creative Applications: working with design, visualization, or media tools.
  • General Use Cases: browsing, document management, or system settings tasks.

Adaptability and curiosity to explore unfamiliar applications are key to success in this role.

Required Qualifications:

  • Computer with 16GB RAM or higher and a stable internet connection.
  • Proven ability to follow step-by-step written instructions with precision.
  • Comfort navigating a wide range of computer applications and interfaces.
  • Basic technical literacy — able to install, configure, and troubleshoot applications.
  • Basic coding knowledge and familiarity with tools like Visual Studio, PyCharm, or similar environments preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and consistency in recording and annotation work.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance with data-handling standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • 1+ years experience in data annotation, QA testing, or user research.
  • Familiarity with productivity, creative, or technical software ecosystems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in remote settings.
  • Proactive communicator and reliable independent contributor.

Perks of Freelancing With Turing:

  • Work in a fully remote environment.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects with leading LLM companies.
  • Potential for contract extension based on performance and project needs.

Offer Details:

  • Commitments Required : at least 4 hours per day and minimum 30 hours per week with 4 hours of overlap with PST.
  • Engagement type : Contractor assignment/freelancer (no medical/paid leave)
  • Duration of contract : 1 month

Evaluation Process:

  • Shortlisted candidates will have to fill a short form and you are ready to go!
