Job Title: Non-Clinical Coordinator – Appeals Intake

Business Area: Grievance & Appeals / Clinical Operations

Location: Remote (Florida)


Position Purpose:

The Non-Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the initial intake and review of appeal cases to ensure all required documentation is present. This role supports the appeals process by organizing case materials, identifying behavioral health or other specialty cases, and routing them to the appropriate clinical staff for review.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review incoming appeal requests to verify completeness and compliance with intake protocols.
  • Identify missing documentation and request additional materials (e.g., EMRs, authorization forms).
  • Categorize cases based on type (Behavioral Health, Medical, etc.) and route to appropriate clinical teams.
  • Maintain accurate logs and tracking systems for appeal cases.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely case handoff and resolution.
  • Support automation tools and intake platforms for efficient case triage.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements during intake processing.
  • Communicate with providers and members as needed to clarify documentation or appeal status.


Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • 0–1 years of experience in claims or appeals processing
  • Familiarity with healthcare documentation and intake workflows

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Basic understanding of appeals and grievance processes
  • Ability to work with intake platforms and EMR systems
  • Effective communication and coordination abilities
