As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you are skilled in functional testing and will be part of a large team of testers. Together, we are inventing innovative, interactive software experiences and changing the way people engage with technology (while having fun along the way, of course).

We are hiring for this role as contract, remote position in Georgia, West Virginia, Indianapolis or Colorado.

Please note: There is a requirement for this role that you need to have access to coax-based broadband in your work environment, and that you are within a Comcast/Xinity service map.

Requirements

What You'll Do:

  • Design quality assurance and test processes for all digital solutions
  • Gather and understand project requirements to develop test plans.
  • Create, modify and execute test cases, at times using automated testing
  • Utilize your understanding of wireframes and designs to create test cases based on this documentation.
  • Suggest improvements to the design and development teams to improve overall user experience.
  • Document bugs and recommended fixes in provided tracking solutions to ensure that team members have a clear understanding of what has been tested, what requires improvement, and the desired end result.
  • Validate bug fixes and verify feature implementation.
  • Participate in different testing phases e.g. System Testing, System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing to do smoke, regression, ad-hoc testing.
  • Create and review traceability matrix documents with team and stakeholders to ensure test coverage via automated scripts and manual test cases

What You'll Bring:

  • Post Secondary education in computer science, information technology, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to measure general quality of software and optimize processes.
  • Enterprise-grade services testing/QA experience
  • Experience with traffic review via proxy/software, e.g. Charles Proxy, Postman, etc
  • Familiarity with general web tech (Headers, Cookies, URL manipulation, etc)
  • Exposure to OTT devices (Roku/Chromecast)
  • Strong attention to contextual differences and analytical/problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of quality assurance tools, ticketing software, and project management tools such as Jira
  • Knowledge of overall architecture of websites, mobile applications, set top boxes, and online games
  • Understanding of quality assurance best practices and software testing methodology
  • Work well in an ever-changing, fast paced, high pressure environment that requires meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a group of team members including developers, project managers, creative directors, and clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice-to-Haves:

  • 5 + years of experience working in a software testing capacity preferred
  • Development experience is considered an asset
  • Experience working in a similar industry and/or with similar products
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, etc.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or Shell scripting

Compensation:

  • The expected salary range for this position is $85-$105 USD per hour, based on experience and technical proficiency
