Product Management Intern (Remote in U.S.)


How You’ll Make An Impact

As a Product Management Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and contribute to advancing the goals of USGBC’s Product Management Team. The Product Management Team is responsible for supporting USGBC and GBCI products (such as LEED, TRUE, SITES, PERFORM, Arc, etc.) across their entire lifecycle to advance overall product strategy and direction, including establishing integrated product plans, identifying customer needs, and working with cross-functional teams to develop, launch, and optimize products across the organization. You’ll work under the guidance of a designated Product Manager and collaborate with a supportive team where your efforts and ideas will be valued.

During this internship, you will focus on the following project: How best to measure and track key progress indicators for the TRUE product through evaluating metrics and developing a tracking dashboard?

This Work Will Support Efforts To Build a Data Driven Culture And Help Inform Future Decisions, Policies, Or Improvements. You Will Also

Expected Outcomes

By the end of the internship, you are expected to deliver:

  • Deliverable1: Dashboard that monitors product progress on a set of key progress indicators
  • Deliverable2:Process guide on how similar dashboards can be built for other products.
  • Deliverable 3: Dataset that can regularly and easily be updated to feed KPI dashboard.
  • Final presentation for the Intern Showcase

Key Learning Areas And Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing data to identify gaps and tracking opportunities
  • Develop easy to update dataset that feeds into relevant dashboards to continually track KPI progress
  • Develop process guide on how to update and maintain KPI data and dashboard
  • Develop dashboard in Microsoft Power BI to track KPI data
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and technical teams to gather insights and coordinate deliverables
  • Develop process guide on how to replicate dashboard creation for other USGBC products
  • Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and learning sessions
  • Maintain accurate records of weekly hours worked
  • Prepare and deliver a final project/research presentation

Preferred Qualifications

Experience (if applicable)

  • Prior internships or volunteer work in a professional setting preferred

Education

  • Currently pursing or recently completed undergraduate degree in sustainability, environmental science, environmental management, data science, or business administration (or relevant degree) preferred

Technical Tools

  • Familiarity with:
    • PowerBI
    • Notion
    • Microsoft Office Suite: Word,Excel,Powerpoint, Outlook

  • Excellent written and verbalcommunicationsskills.

INTERN LOGISTICS

Location: This position is remote in the United States.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM in the intern’s time zone. Note: Interns are not compensated for holidays or personal time off.

Internship Cohorts

  • Cohort 1: June 1st , 2026 to August 21st, 2026
  • Cohort 2: June 22nd, 2026 to September 11th, 2026

Compensation: Hourly rate: $20–$25 per hour, based on education and experience. Compensation is determined using an internal intern pay matrix and is not negotiable.
