We’re seeking a dynamic Peo ple & Culture Generalist to join our team! As a frontline contributor, the P&C Generalist will play a key role in delivering high-impact People & Culture services across multiple sites and the P&C Service Center. This position combines traditional HR expertise with modern People operations, lev eraging data, technology, and proactive relationship management to drive consistent, positive employee experiences and support organizational goals.
Location: This role is remote, but we are ideally seeking candidates located in the Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, or Michigan area (or within close proximity to where primary business partners are based)
Salary range: $72 - $78k
Reports To: Senior People & Culture Business Partner
Travel: Up to 10%

- Champion self-service by maintaining accurate, accessible P&C knowledge resources and SOPs in partnership and support of People Operations ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment across all people-related processes. Provides managers and associates with the tools and guidance needed to resolve routine inquiries independently, reducing repeat questions and driving consistent policy interpretation
- Execute all stages of the employee lifecycle, i.e. onboarding/offboarding, in accordance with Clarest policy and procedure
- Triage, manage, and escalate employee relations casework with a focus on people-oriented business outcomes ensuring quality documentation that identifies risk, adherence to compliance, and audit readiness
- Oversee and track the leave management and workers compensation processes internally and in partnership with site leadership and outside agencies, to include state and third-party services, ensuring comprehensive documentation, follow-up, adherence to applicable state and federal laws, and escalation as appropriate
- Use data fluency to review case trends, metrics, and analytics to find patterns and proactively address and escalate workforce needs
- Demonstrate proficiency with P&C technologies including HRIS platforms, case management systems, and AI-assisted workflows. Apply these tools to aid in streamlining operations, enhance service delivery, and support data-driven decision-making
- Actively contribute to the creation, review, and ongoing improvement of organizational policies
- Ensure consistent application of policies and compliance with state and federal employment laws. Support audit readiness and enterprise risk management through rigorous documentation and adherence to regulatory standards
- Executing frontline P&C service delivery for assigned client groups in alignment with service standards and SLA expectations. Partner with People Operations to identify recurring issues and process gaps to drive continuous improvement in processes
- Participate in projects and initiatives that advance organizational goals. Partner with leadership and P&C Business Partners to deliver departmental goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification with clearly discernable works proving effort in maintaining knowledge regarding modern trends as it relates to People operations, data analytics, and technology
- Flexibility to support evolving business needs and contribute to team success through added duties as assigned to include keeping abreast of all labor laws that are in effect in the states in which we operate
- Must adhere to Clarest’s Code of Conduct, follow Clarest Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of any federal or state laws to either their direct supervisor, Human Resources or the Compliance Officer
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- 2-4 years of P&C experience, including:
- Employee relations support
- Proficiency in HRIS systems
- Knowledge of compliance requirements
- Expertise in onboarding processes
- Strong understanding of State and Federal labor laws
- Experience with performance management processes
- Strong business acumen to support authentic communications to all levels of associates with clarity and in alignment with P&C values and goals
- Apply data fluency to collect, analyze, and interpret HR-related data
- Ability to assist in guiding organizational behavior by aligning with policy frameworks and established individual contributor leadership competencies
- Ability to lead self through adaptability by being composed during uncertainty, embracing new methodologies, and maintain performance while being able to pivot through changing priorities.
- Show accountability by taking ownership for results, learning from mistakes, and following through on commitments to build trust and drive for continuous improvement.
