Financial Data Analyst | 3 months | Non-profit | Fully Remote from NY/NJ ONLY

We are looking for a Financial Data Analyst for an approximately 3 months long temporary position with our client. The role is fully remote but must be done from NY/NJ, using your own computer/equipment. The hours can be flexible - they can consider someone full time or part time, but must have some overlap with typical office hours.

Our client is a non-profit political organization that works with state legislations. This role assists the COO and Finance Director with financial analysis and modeling. Must be able to run reports, do analysis, and make recommendations. Must be highly proficient in Excel (for finance).

This role is a TEMPORARY position through TSS. You would be employed and paid by our company and working directly with the client. Learn more about the role and TSS on our website.

Responsibilities:

-Analyze financial data to evaluate financial performance, identify market trends, and make forecasts.

-Develop financial models and compile reports for management and stakeholders.

-Provide insights and recommendations for financial decision-making, budgeting, and cash flow opportunities.

-Monitor revenue and expense trends to understand the complexities of our cashflow and the impact on the org.

-Collaborate with management to develop long-term plans and policies for financial growth.

-Analyze technical data to identify problems and design solutions for system administration improvements, network concerns, or complex application issues.

-Design, build, and maintain data systems and financial databases, which may involve data integration, and fixing errors.

-Support business users by creating reports, managing system access, and providing technical and training support.

-Collaborate with business teams to implement system improvements and develop policies for data governance.

-Document processes, requirements, and system specifications: to ensure user clarity and maintain usage.

-Organization is made up of 4 legal entities with different fiscal years so must be open and eager to learn. Need someone who is confident in their skills and analysis.

-Currently in budget season so very busy.

Qualifications:

-Must have 7-10 years+ of direct experience working on a finance team in a dynamic environment.

-Need someone who is familiar with financial analysis and modeling and highly proficient with MS Excel.

-Education: CPA preferred. Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, or equivalent experience.

Technology: Google Drive, MS Office – advanced Excel (for finance), QuickBooks online, Paylocity.

Compensation: $45-$60/hr, commensurate with experience
