About the Role:

We are seeking a Chemical or Industrial Engineer with at least 7 years of experience and a strong background in CAD design for piping systems. This freelance role focuses on converting 2D Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) into 3D models and aligning technical drawings with client standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in industrial, civil, or chemical facilities and a deep understanding of piping layouts and asset tagging.

Key Responsibilities:

Convert P&ID drawings from PDF to AutoCAD format.
Modify and standardize drawings to align with client-specific CAD guidelines.
Translate 2D schematics into accurate and detailed 3D piping models.
Assign and manage asset tags, including:
Approximately 50 equipment tags
Approximately 400 instrument tags
Approximately 250 valve tags
Document asset tags in spreadsheets for internal tracking (no system uploads required).
Coordinate with internal technical teams to ensure alignment with operational requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
Minimum 7 years of professional experience in CAD design within industrial or chemical facilities.
Proven expertise in converting and modeling P&ID drawings.
Strong command of AutoCAD and familiarity with industry drafting standards.
Experience in asset tagging and documentation for engineering systems.
Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and deliver high-quality work remotely.
