Chemical / Industrial Engineer - Expertise in CAD Design (2D to 3D Conversion) - Remote

About the Role:
We are seeking a Chemical or Industrial Engineer with at least 7 years of experience and a strong background in CAD design for piping systems. This freelance role focuses on converting 2D Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) into 3D models and aligning technical drawings with client standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in industrial, civil, or chemical facilities and a deep understanding of piping layouts and asset tagging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Convert P&ID drawings from PDF to AutoCAD format.
- Modify and standardize drawings to align with client-specific CAD guidelines.
- Translate 2D schematics into accurate and detailed 3D piping models.
- Assign and manage asset tags, including:
- Approximately 50 equipment tags
- Approximately 400 instrument tags
- Approximately 250 valve tags
- Document asset tags in spreadsheets for internal tracking (no system uploads required).
- Coordinate with internal technical teams to ensure alignment with operational requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in CAD design within industrial or chemical facilities.
- Proven expertise in converting and modeling P&ID drawings.
- Strong command of AutoCAD and familiarity with industry drafting standards.
- Experience in asset tagging and documentation for engineering systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and deliver high-quality work remotely.
